Just when you think you've got them figured out, guess what?

This Could Happen To You!

Jim

Today I finally got out (I live 2 minutes from the river) and took my little 4wt and floating line and only a bunch of your leech patterns. I think I landed around a dozen rainbows from 13 - 18 inches and I won't say how many I missed or broke off. I have been fishing this spot every spring for years and the bite usually shuts down after landing a couple of fish. Today they liked the black egg sucking leech, the black leech, the antique gold leech, and were still going when I had to leave 3 hours later. Swinging big wet flies is normally a good way to go here in spring high water but today was outstanding.

Thanks - Pat Sillivan (Spokane, WA)

Nymphs

This is my original pattern that started my fishing career. I originated this pattern in May of 1962 to catch trout. I had no idea that this fly would hold so many world records and catch so many different fish. There's hardly a fish that couldn't be caught on a Teeny Nymph. Our size range is from a small size 14 up to a large size 2 hook and come in all the feather colors listed below. This fly is basically tied with one feather so it is fairly simple to reproduce. I can't say enough good things about this pattern. It rarely let's me down, no matter where I'm fishing. It should be a basic standby pattern that will soon be one of your all time favorites. I find the Nymph to be more effective than the Leech or attractor pattern when fish are more selective and harder to get to take the fly.

Leeches

This pattern is a variation of the original Teeny Nymph. The difference is that the leech has a tail and the nymph does not. They come in sizes 6 through 10 and come in the feather colors listed below. A great pattern when the fish are aggressive and chase the fly. Your type of retrieve will sometimes govern the strikes you get while fishing. Experiment with different types of retrieves until you hit the right one. Leeches seem to be very good on trout, steelhead, salmon, and bass. Nymphs and Leeches will at times work on a floating line in the surface film but on an average using a sink tip or sinking type line brings much better results more consistently.

Egg-Sucking Leech

This pattern really catches a lot of different fish. Trout, Steelhead, Salmon, and Bass fall big time for this pattern in Natural, Black, Purple, and Ginger. Size ranges from a #2 to a #10. These flies with the orange head seem to attract hard strikes by most fish. Both lakes and rivers are good waters for the Egg Sucking Leech. We've used floating lines but seem to do better on the Mini-Tip and T-Series sinking lines. When fishing in rivers a dead drift seems to work very well. The takes are usually very strong and aggressive. At times movement of the fly will also trigger savage hits.

Flash Fly

A two toned variation of the original Teeny Nymph. This pattern also has about 8 strands of crystal flash tied into the top section. They come in sizes 2, 4 and 6 and in the following color combinations: Blk/Ginger, Blk/Orange, Blk/Hot Green, Blk/Purple, Blk/Chili, Ginger/Orange, Ginger/Hot Green, Ginger/Hot Pink, Natural/Ginger, Pur/Hot Pink, Pur/Orange and Org/Hot Green. A great search fly and attractor pattern. I've done very well with these pattern for Salmon, Steelhead, and larger trout. With our many color combos you can hit on the right one to catch lots of fish. The Natural body and ginger top is quite productive for German browns and steelhead. I've caught lots of big rainbows and other fish on the flash fly pattern.

We offer them in sizes #14, #12, #10, #8, #6, #4 and #2. We are finding out that many fly tiers are using them to tie their special patterns because of their high performance. 25 to a pack.
