![]() Teeny Tip Taper Hi Jim, just to let you know that that TT-375 series line I got from you a while back is still working great. A fellow guide and I floated a friend on the White River on February 7th, and knocked the brown trout out of the water. It was funny. Our friend is from Dallas TX and is a big Steelhead fisherman out in Michigan. He just got a new SA Streamer Express line. We gave him the front of the boat and within minutes he was complaining about all the tangles in his line. It was a real mess. Larry B., the other guide with me just laughed because we had both been down that road with the SA line. After making him struggle for about an hour I handed him my rod with the TT 375 on it and told him to make a few casts. His first words after the first cast "holy crap what kind of line is this" He asked Larry if he stocked the line. Larry is also the manager of Blue Ribbon Flys of Arkansas. I have been working on Larry to place an order and I think he finally did order a number of lines this week. I think these TT lines are going to be a big hit down here as soon as the word get's around. Thanks again for a great line. I will be placing an order for replacement lines for a couple of my rental rods and another TT line sometime this week. Tight lines Dennis Schule |

Teeny Tip Taper Hi Jim, I talked with you on the phone a couple of weeks ago about a problem I was having with a Scientific Anglers Streamer Express line and the running line coiling so bad I couldn't cast it. You recommended your TT series of lines. I bought the TT-375 and today I finally had the opportunity to put it through it's paces. I have had a couple of my customers cast it on the White River throwing large streamers and they appeared to like it. So with no guide trip today I did what most guides do on their day off, I went fishing. I threw large circus peanuts, sex dungeons etc and I could not believe how this line performed. I followed your recommendation to bring the head of the line to the end of the rod where it meets the running line and it works flawlesly. It was a real pleasure to cast with no tangles. This is a great line even in the cold weather. Today it was 34 degrees and the running line stayed limp on the floor of the boat. Thanks for the recommendation and for designing such a great product. I have two other guides that have been waiting for a review of the line so I will forward my thoughts to them. Tight lines, Dennis Schule

Hi Jim, I met you In Calgary. You had put away all materials and took them out again to show me how to tie your fly. I purchased a package of your flies. I was at Douglas Lake Ranch and put the black fly with the silver trip on a medium sink clear line with 8' of tippet. I used the 5wt rod I built this winter with the Kalalmalka Fly Fishers. Some folks talk about a 35 fish day and I have never believed them until now. I landed 28 fish and lost about 8 or 9 on that magic fly. It was a perfect day. The sun shone, it clouded up, rained, poured then cleared and became sunny and hot. All through it the fish attacked that fly. I started fishing around 11:15 and got off the water around 7:15. I was exhausted like a ten year old who had played hard all day long. It was pure fun filled with great laughter as the famous Kamloops trout jump and jump and jump. Thank you, Jim. Your fly made all the difference that day. I have placed it in a special spot in my fly box. It is in tatters but recognizable. I have enclosed a photo of just one of the average size fish from Big Sabin lake on the Douglas Lake Ranch. Take care, Vicki A. Green, Ph.D.

Spring 2008 Pat-- At long last I can report that the 8-weight Pat Ehlers Pro Bass llne I bought from you last year did its job well on a few mangrove shoreslines in southwest Florida. The bright orange belly contrasted very well with the green mangrove shoreline, so I could see the shape of the loop, and the change from orange to green was an effective range-finder. I was able to track the fly better too, since the "big measurements" were marked out by the line. Together I had a good sense of distance, and the line was slick enough to minimize false-casting. While I realize it's supposed to be a bass line, I expect mine to perform at a high enough level to call it a "snook line". Best regards, -- Don Larmouth

Jim, I caught my first redfish in South Bay out of Aransas Pass, Texas on 10/30/2007. I used the Jim Teeny Professional Flip Pallot flyline on an 8 wt. fly rod. I had been unsuccessful in the past until my guide, Captain Mike Cook at Rockport, Texas, suggested I try the Jim Teeny flyline. That was the best advice anyone ever gave me. The Jim Teeny fly line is truly exceptional. Thanks, Dennis Hilton |

Here is a great shot from John Ain, who put on a Permit tournament in Key West Florida March 15th-17th 2006. We donated 25 lines for this tournament which was a fund raiser. They raised over $13,000 dollars for charity, many of the anglers after fishing with the donated Bruce Chard Permit lines were impressed and expressed making it there line of choice. He also won the tournament on our Pro-Bruce Chards permit line! |

June 27 , 2005 I just wanted to say how pleased I am with the quality of your products and service. The Teeny Fly lines I bought are the best I've tried for casting. The Teeny sparkle Leech has become one of my go -to patterns for Steelhead. Your service has been great - I had a lot of questions when I was getting started, and couldn't believe it when Jim Teeny himself returned my call and gave me his time to answer all my questions. Now that's customer service! I hope I've sent some business your way by telling guys I know from my fly club and others. Thanks, |

May 31, 2005 Dear Dick, (one of our sales reps) I greatly appreciate the opportunity to use the three rods
you lent me for the recent Permit trip to Belize. But even more that
the rods…the New Professional Bruce Chard Permit Line saltwater
lines are terrific. I am not a rod or line designer nor have I ever fished
with one. I have fished saltwater for over twenty years and have a reasonable
amount of experience with rods and lines in the 8-12 weights. These evaluations
are submitted respectfully as well as candidly and are meant only to
be the evaluation of myself and a half a dozen or so other saltwater
anglers and guides. These comments are meant to be constructive and appreciative
of the opportunity to field test the new Bruce Chard Permit lines on
different rods. By the end of the second day....all the Teeny lines were
on our 'go to rod/reels and NOBODY was looking back. If I had a dozen
of them in weights from 8-13, I could have sold them all for $100 each.
Of course we were fifteen miles off the coast of Central America and
simple demand side economics could have come into play, but still...
It replaced my RIO Permit line and my Sage Equator. General Consensus: Fantastic. Hot commodity. Wouldn't change
a thing. Respectfully submitted by, |

I just returned from fishing Peacock Bass in the Amazon. I brought along your 9 weight Permit line (Teeny Professional Series "Bruce Chard" Permit Line) because I anticipated throwing heavy flies. I am going on a permit trip later this year and thought this would be a good chance to see how the line performed. I have been a saltwater fly fisherman for the past 30 years and have never thrown a line like this! The guides couldn't speak English, but the lodge manager said they referred to me as "long cast". Your line was truly amazing. Steve Shaddock |

March 26, 2005 Jim: I was totally blown away last month over your phone call to understand how I intended to use my Bruce Chard Teeny Permit lines. When my wife said Jim Teeny was on the phone for me , I said " Yeah Really"-- thinking her proclevity to pull my chain was at work! Ha! It really was you. Thanks for your call. I've been working with my Bruce Chard Permit lines for about 3 weeks; about 5 or 6 times a week for 40 min each session. Some sessions on a local lake--some on grass. My observations are as follows: You MUST use a long (like 11 foot ) STIFF leader with these lines; for my casting style (I'm 6 foot 3 and 230 pounds--ex shot putter-- no finesse) the 10 wt BC line really overloads my Sage TCR 9 wt rod; the 9wt BC line on the TCR 9wt rod is TRULY UNBELIEVABLE-- like an 11 foot leader plus 20 ft of line outside the tip produces 75 foot casts and nice loops with only one backcast, every time-- that is except when I put too much into it and get a beautiful loop out to 80 plus feet; two backcasts --only to increase line speed--not to carry more than 30 or 35 feet of line in the air-- always gets 85 feet. WHOOPIE!!! I have found my Permit line. Oh, but there then was a problem-- namely, I had bought two 10wt BC Permit lines-- so what would I do with them since they overloaded my Sage TCR 9 WT rod??? Well I decided that I had to have a stiff/fast 10 WT rod in order to make use of the 10WT lines. So, I bought a Loomis Cross Current GLX (4 pc) 10WT rod. My BC 10WT lines are TRULY AWESOME on this rod!!!!!! I get 80ft with one backcast on almost every try. I can't thank you or Bruce Chard enough for designing and producing these lines!! Thank You, Thank You. I have only one question: What is the best way to clean them--particularly when I'm someplace like Belize on a fishing trip? I have been using Scientifis Anglers cleaning pads (dry) on the new SA AST lines and with SA line dressing for other lines. What do you recommend. Sorry for the long message. I'll be using my BC Teeny lines at Blue Horizon Lodge in Belize during New Moon time from April 4 thru April 14. Thanks for everything, Pete Answer to the cleaning question: Simply rinse the line in cool water with a very mild liquid soap if necessary. Jim has found that the new HPC coating is very slick and he hasn't had much need to clean them. |

January 26 , 2005 Hi Jim/Ginger, As promised here is some feedback on your fly lines. The lines are still being tested and evaluated, this is the first report back that I have. The report is from Sean Mills Fly Fishing Pro Shop owner and former member of our national fly fishing team. The report went out to all of his customers. Fly line test (Jim Teeny fly lines) "I find it much easier to sell products if I have used them myself and I know their strengths and weaknesses. That is why I like to test as much of the tackle that we get in as I can. I have been using the Jim Teeny fly lines for the last 4 months now and I am most impressed! These lines are made for Jim Teeny by Cortland who are experts in making braid. The braid is the part of the fly line that ultimately gives a line its "feel" as well as determining if it will have memory (those irritating coils in the line when you pull it off the spool). Some fly lines are designed for cold water, others for warmer water and there are some lines that are designed not to wilt and go sticky in the tropics where it gets very hot and humid. The Jim Teeny fly lines that I have tested so far are the Jim Teeny Floating Fly Line (no memory, bright green color, nice smooth line that shoots very well and awesome for the relatively low price and designed for cold to medium water), the Long Shot floating line (Excellent long distance casting line with zero memory, excellent in the wind with a supple coating and white color for visibility it will handle cold to medium temperatures), the Jim Teeny Mini Tip (this line has a short 5 foot fast sinking tip fused to a yellow floating line that once again has zero memory and shoots like a bullet. It is good for casting streamer flies into deep holes and for fishing rapids on rivers. It is designed to handle cold to warm water), the T Series 130 grain sinking fly line (which has a 22 foot type 4 sinking head seamlessly fused to floating fly line. The line has zero memory, shoots brilliantly well and the head sinks fast. No more tangling running line! It will work in cold to warm water) and the Lefty Kreh Pro series multi purpose floating fly line (this line is a bright orange color and is designed for quickly and accurately casting flies in fresh or salt water and has a harder coating than the other Jim Teeny lines. It shoots like greased lightning and is ideal for casting big or small flies in the wind. Because of the stiffer coating it has a slight memory in it compared with the other Jim Teeny lines but it is minimal when compared to other fly floating fly lines. This line is designed for warm water but works fine in cold water conditions) I have never had to stretch any Jim Teeny fly lines before using them, ever! Now this may seem trivial, but a lot of time is wasted in a day when you have to stretch your fly line every time you pull it off the spool. All Jim Teeny fly lines come with a free instructional DVD. I highly recommend these fly lines and I sell them with
total confidence. They are also backed by a 1 year guarantee." |
