Andros Island Bonefish Club - May 1999

I had a chance to spend 5 days at the Andros Island Bonefish Club this year in May. I fished with Rupert Leadon guide and owner of the club and Donna Teeny chasing Bonefish, Tarpon and Barracuda. My first two days were spent with David West, host of “Americana Outdoors” filming a program for their television series. We caught bonefish up to a solid 7 pounds, and missed a couple that were certainly larger. Food, lodging and guides were all pleasant. I would give this experience a high rating. Not much to do at the club other than fish. If that is what you are after this could be the place for you. I have spoken with many fly fishers who love to fish for bonefish, many agree that Andros Island is probably the best location for to catch 10 pound plus fish. Donna Teeny in one morning caught bonefish estimated at 7 1/2, 10, 13, and 14 pounds! The best flyline without question for any bonefish trip would be our Professional Series Flip Pallot line.
