It is the constant - or inconstant - change, the infinite variety in fly fishing
that binds us fast. it is impossible to grow weary of a sport that is
never the same on any two days of the year.

Sea-run German Browns, Chile April 2000

This was my first trip to the tip of South America after the brown trout of the Rio Grande. This adventure came about through my good friend Gonzalo Cortes, who owns and operates The Fly Shop in Santiago, Chile. Gonzalo has been going there for the past six seasons, and has landed fish in the 20 pound class. The lodge that we stayed at was called Cameron Lodge, and had a rustic home style feeling to it. Accommodations and food were good, and the staff was always there to help you in any way.

We fished April 10th through the 15th, and our group landed Browns up to 18 pounds. Everyone of us felt we lost fish in the 20 plus range. They were strong fighters, and good looking fish. Definitely it is a trip you need to do more than once. After all we didn't land our 20 pounder!
