This marks my 18th annual trip with the Duncan's on the Chosen River in Alaska. Everything about this trip is exciting except the mosquitoes. Brad Duncan manages their lower Base Camp and I go during the King, Chum, and Sockeye season. It is safe to say that during your 6 days of fishing you could hook a few hundred fish 8 pounds or more. Good Biters and great fighters, this can be at times non-stop action. We normally fish 9 or 10 weights for the kings and 8 weights for chum and sockeyes. Teeny Mini Tips, T-200, T-300, T-400 and our Saltwater Series 250 to 650 lines also work very well. Short leaders of 4 feet work very well with our sinking lines, getting the fly down quickly to the fish. The last 18 seasons have all been very special to me and I enjoy every phase of this trip. For a true Alaska wilderness experience with lots of fish and fishing time with the best River Camp Outfitters give them a call at 1-509-962-1060. They also have other camps and areas they fish in Alaska that are equally good, saltwater in South East Alaska, Steelhead, and Silvers, Float trips.
