Florida Tarpon May 2000
Another outstanding trip with Captain Bruce Chard of "Night Stalker" in the Florida Keys. During my six days of fishing our boat jumped 41 Tarpon! I managed to get lucky and get 10 Tarpon to the leader, between 80 and 130 pounds. My friends, from Chile, Gonzalo and Pablo were also fishing. Pablo hooked, fought, and landed a 90 inch x 45 inch Tarpon after an hour and a half battle! By the standard formula this fish would have weighed 227.8 pounds!!!
We had windy conditions which slowed up the daytime fishing quite a bit. Some of the evenings were also windy. It's hard to express the excitement of a giant tarpon slamming your fly.
