Provo River
Russ Eckardt and I got to spend part of a day on the Provo River. It turned up some nice brown trout and fair action. I elected to fish our T-200 line with a short 4 foot leader. I used sizes #10 to #4 in colors of Natural, Antique Gold, Insect Green, Black, and Ginger. It seems the gold and ginger were the most popular with the fish.
The river is beautiful and easy to wade in the lower section where we fished. The water was clear and you could spot fish if you were looking and wearing Polaroids. I fished a 4 foot leader with 6 pound tippet and would roll cast the line and dead drift the fly through the runs and riffles. It was easy to roll cast across the river from one shore to another in many places. Mike and Kate from The Fish'n Hole, along with Mike's brother Tony took us to some great spots that they liked.
