This pattern really catches a lot of different fish. Trout, Steelhead, Salmon, and Bass fall big time for this pattern. Size ranges from a #2 to a #10. These flies with the orange head seem to attract hard strikes by most fish. Both lakes and rivers are good waters for the Egg Sucking Leech. We’ve used floating lines but seem to do better on the Mini-Tip and T-Series sinking lines. When fishing in rivers a dead drift seems to work very well. The takes are usually very strong and aggressive. At times movement of the fly will also trigger savage hits.
